Well where to start?! It's has been exactly 57 days since my last post and I am utterly ashamed! Christmas, New Year and the start of Semester 2, Year 2 at Uni have all been mad...I've never been so silent for so long! Christmas with my Mum was fab she got me some great gifts which I will share with you shortly. New Year was also brilliant - first time I've been to London to celebrate it - absolutely fantastic! Recently been on a clothes buying rampage I seem to be obsessed with butterfly, bird, and owl prints (owls! so cute) to which my dear Mother replied "What if you get bored of birds?" Good point Mama but hey that's fashion. It comes and it goes in cycles.

So I'll start with naming a few of the lovely presents I got for Christmas - mainly the ones I would recommend to you!

 1. Jimmy Choo Perfume - From Mummy

Literally smells like a slice of heaven. Sweet but not disgustingly so, not too overpowering or heady. Plus the box is wayy cute; a snakeskin print.

2. Rodial Glamtox Kit - Also from Mummy

I'd never actually heard of this brand but after a bit of research I now realise that it's a 'celebrity must have!' It consists of a lip balm, wrinkle cream (I'm 20 I know but so what hehe) a day cream, a night serum and a cleansing balm. The balm is AMAZING. You know when you take all your makeup off with a makeup wipe and think 'Yeah my face is clean now'...Well it's not! That is not until you've used this balm. It literally takes off every stitch of makeup and my skin looked (not to be too cliche) radiant and soft in the morning!

3. Photobook - From Mummy

Haven't got a photo of this but beautiful Mama got me probably my best present to date; a photo book of my life so far. I burst into tears as soon as I opened it, it was so thoughtful. If you're ever stuck for a gift idea I really recommend getting your loved one/s a photo book. It's all printed on glossy photo paper and is something they can keep forever. There's loads of sites with deals as well so go and get creative!

4. MORE Soap and Glory from my Lovely Boyfriend (Good lad he knows what we like)

I got treated to three new Soap and Glory products that I haven't used before.

I would recommend all three but especially the Sugar Crush Body Scrub. Its more of a twice a week scrub than the  Pulp Friction which can be used daily. It smells quite citrusy  and fresh but feels fantastic on the skin.

5. Peter Pan Style Collar Top from New Look - Thanks again boyf!

I was so happy when I opened this top becaaause as I've previously said I LOVE bird prints :) I know you can't see it that well in this photo but you get the gist! New Look are great for day time tops at the moment I've bought about four this month...naughty.

Bargain Alert!

H&MH&M Half Price Blazers - £15

I was in the high-street earlier and went to have a mooch in H&M to see what they have. My colleague had told me yesterday that she got a blazer in there for £15 which I thought was a great price. But sometimes with cheaper blazers the cut isn't great and it doesn't fit that well or the range of colours is pretty poor. But not in this case! There was a fantastic array of colours - black, navy, burgundy, sand, red, pink and green (from what I could see) So I went ahead and tried on the burgundy and sand. To be honest I loved both and would have had one in every colour if I could!! But in the end (as I am a creature of habit) I bought the burgundy one as I just have a weird obsession with the colour haha. I'll post a photo of me in mine soon but make sure you go and have a look because they were a great fit, a thick jersey material with a nice lining and came in so many colours. Oh and they used to be £29.99 ;) I found a few images of it online to show you but the blazer looks far more casual when worn with the right clothing. So you can dress it up and down :) The colours of the images look slightly different to the material in  real life. My burgundy one is the second blazer along but it's actually redder than it appears here.

The Blazer looks great on!

New Look - £10 off selected party dresses
£5 off selected tops

I also had a mooch in New Look and saw that a few of the dresses I've previously blogged about are now £10 off yay! There are some lovely party tops that are now £5 off as well. So go for a little look if you want!

What I spied with my little eye in Oxford Street

I took a trip to London at the weekend (to visit my boyfriend who's at Kings) and took the opportunity to have a mooch round the shops to see what was hot for the holiday season!

Of course I did get slightly distracted by the business of Oxford street and obviously by the beautiful Christmas lights that were recently put up! So I've put a few photos up of them for your enjoyment. Might encourage you to go to Oxford Street for a spot of Christmas Shopping :) I went into a couple of shops, New Look, Topshop, Zara, River Island, H&M, Miss Selfridge - Most high-street stores.

Miss Selfridge has a gorgeous array of christmas and party frocks. I've actually been looking for a dress for a wedding and found the perfect one but for me it was a little too pricey. Anyway the store was full of gorgeous fabrics and sparkly dresses and clutch bags!! It was like glitter heaven. Here's the window display so that you can see the kind of colours that are in this winter.

There were a lot of neutral nudes, silvers, golds and peaches. For the lovers of bright colours there were some reds and royal blues but the colours shown in the window seem to be the most in stock. If you don't like sequins there are plenty of floaty chiffon and peplum dresses.

So I've decided to show you a few frocks ;) for the season to be jolly. Christmas time = parties full of fun and sparkle so why not have a dress to match!

Nude & Shimmer

(Left to Right)

Dress 1 - Sequin Lace Peplum Dress -        £49
Dress 2 - Silver Embellished Vest Dress -   £75
Dress 3 - Embellished Babydoll Dress -      £47
Dress 4 - Petites Lacy Tutu Dress -            £45
(This one has a gorgeous low back!)

For me these dresses would be for a one off party as their fairly expensive so buy on my student budget. They are absolutely gorgeous though and the money is purely due to the amount of work that goes into embellishing the pieces in beads and sequins.

Sequins & Sparkle

New Look - Remember your student discount for an extra 10% off!

(Left to right)

Dress 1 - Navy Sequin Sleeveless Skater Dresss -                     £29
Dress 2 - Gold Sequin Skater Dress -                                   £34.99
Dress 3 - Parisian White and gold Sequin 2 in 1 Dress -        £29.99
Dress 4 - Gold 3/4 Length Sleeve Bodycon Dress -              £39.99

This is a photo of me on my 20th Birthday wearing the Parisian White and gold Sequin 2 in 1 Dress from New Look. It was lovely and fit really well but occasionally the sequins felt a bit rough on my skin. I wore it with a pair of ... stone kind of nude kind of beige shoes (haha) and a gold clutch that I borrowed from my friend! Was a great night and the sparkles made me feel all birthday-ish :) Hopefully if you get a sparkly dress it will put you in the Christmas Spirit!

I LOVE Baroque!

Ok so maybe you're thinking..."what on earth is baroque?!". Well when it comes to fashion 'baroque' refers to swirling patterns reminiscent of 17th century Italian fabrics. Recently I've spotted loads of gorgeous baroque patterns on various items of clothing so I thought I'd share with you how gorgeous they are!!

New Look

For the figure-hugging lovers, these two bodycon dresses with foil detail are perfect to embrace the baroque look. The detail being in the middle also give the body a streamlined look (yippee!!)

They both come in at £24.99 ($40) but remember ladies (if you're a student) grab your student 10% discount making them a fairly affordable £22.50 ($35)

For the skater dress lovers these two pieces are elegant and sophisticated but still embrace the intricate baroque patterns. I have tried on the shell pink dress and found that it was slightly too long for a night out but perfect for a wedding or other event.

They both come in at £24.99 ($40) but remember ladies (if you're a student) grab your student 10% discount making them a fairly affordable £22.50 (£35) the same as the body con dresses.

For those with a bit of cash to splash these two eye catching dresses are a little more expensive but have a definite wow factor! I know that the loyal topshoppers will love them. The monochrome dress on the right also includes another key season trend - the peplum. Combine both this and a baroque print and you're sure to be on to a winner! The great thing about peplum dresses is that they're so flattering on all body shapes as they give you a lovely little waist and emphasize any natural curves.

The black and gold dress to the left is £62 ($99) but is completely covered in sequins. All that hard work is worth the money as it looks gorgeous! The monochrome dress to the right is £42 ($67) but again there is a 10% discount for students bringing the prices down to £55.80 ($89) and £37.80 ($60.50).

It's not only dresses that have been 'baroqued'. Asos offers loads of items printed with the beautiful pattern! Even for men ;) I found some hot-pants, a pair of leggings and a pair of jeans. All would look amazing with just a simple top as the bottoms are enough to make a statement! With some chunky ankle boots or platform heels you can turn them from day into night.

The gold and black jeans are £40 ($64), the monochrome leggings are £23 ($37) and the hot pants are £30 ($48). Again grab your student 10% discount with your NUS card making them all a bit more affordable.

If I find anything else on baroque fashion you will be the first to know!!

P.S. Will post a photo of me in a baroque print dress when I buy one soon! <3

Here's the photo as promised :) I wore this baroque peplum dress when I went to a wedding yesterday!
